Our Medical Malpractice Track Record

Every Case has unique facts. The following cases demonstrate our results but, because every case is different, we do not suggest that we can achieve such results in any particular case.

Brain Damage, Paralysis & Speech Deficits During Bedside Procedure: $3.4 Million A 39 year old father of 2 underwent successful surgery to drain a subdural hematoma from his brain. Days later, the doctor used a peroxide solution to clean the wound, which migrated into the brain tissue causing paralysis and severe speech problems.

Failure to Diagnose Abdominal Cancer Resulting in Death: $3.4 Million A 30 year old man had his appendix removed and upon examination the appendix contained cancerous cells. The patient was never told. Two years later he developed abdominal pain and consulted 3 different doctors who ordered tests confirming the presence of cancer but did not tell the patient or recommend further treatment, Two years after that, the patient was diagnosed with cancer and attempted grueling surgical treatments which were unsuccessful and he died leaving a wife and 5 year old twins.

Ambulance/EMT Mistake: $3.3 Million A 23 year old father of 2 suffered an asthma attack and 911 was called. Ambulance personnel put in a breathing tube to help him breathe. As the patient was carried down the stairs on a stretcher, the tube became dislodged and the patient was deprived of oxygen leaving him in a near vegetative state.

Failure to Diagnose Skin Cancer Causing Death: $1.65 Million A 50 year old father of 2, developed a black mole on his elbow and reported it to the Physician Assistant in his doctor's office. The PA said it was nothing to worry about, and months later, froze or burned it off without ever performing a biopsy or sending the patient to a dermatologist. The patient developed enlarged lymph nodes which tested positive for malignant melanoma from his elbow mole, and he died within 6 months.

Failure to Diagnose and Repair Leak after Weight Loss Surgery Resulting in Death: $1.3 Million A 53 year old married mother of 3 adult sons had weight loss surgery, and in the days following the procedure developed signs and symptoms of infection and bowel leak. Nothing was done to address the problem, which continued to worsen, resulting in her death 10 days later.

Death From Catheter Insertion into Heart by Hospital Resident: $1.2 Million A 56 year old married mother and grandmother was having a dialysis catheter placed by a hospital resident. The resident inserted the catheter incorrectly and poked a hole in the patient's heart, causing her immediate death.

Nursing Home Negligence - $1.2 Million An 85 year old man was admitted to a New Haven area nursing home for rehabilitation on his fractured hip. In the first week there, he was dropped by a certified nurses aide, re-fracturing his hip. This caused a downhill course over 22 months of infection, 9 surgeries, leg amputation, dialysis, and death.

Multiple Medication Errors Causing Severe Skin Ulcers and Death: $1.08 Million A 62 year old engaged woman with a severe Heparin allergy was given Heparin 3 times by different nurses at the same hospital.
